Reza Nakisa presents Miniatures for flute quintet (four c flutes and alto flute).
Though the name Miniatures gives the impression of many small movements, the piece is actually a single continuous work filled with vignettes that brush against each other. Small meditations, rhythmically bouncing perpetuos, virtuosic group cadenzas - brilliantly and idiomatically written. A tour de force in - yes, in miniatures.
