Paloyan, S :: Vent d'Est
Vent D’est (East Wind)
Paloyan, S
From the publisher, Gerard Billaudot, Serge Paloyan’s Vent D’est (East Wind) for piccolo and piano was written for the famous piccoloist, Jean-Louis Beaumadier. Like Paganini’s Moto Perpetuo, Vent D’est is an exercise in agility and stamina. Lasting just three minutes in length, there are no rests for the piccolo, upon its entrance in measure three. Paloyan demands great technical facility, stunning long phrases, as well as an overall sense of maturity throughout the virtuosic passages. Vent D’est is a perfect encore for a recital. Serge Paloyan is a 21st century Austrian composer.
