The Schott Student Edition series is designed for use in instrumental teaching. It contains motivating tuition material ranging from easy pieces for beginners to demanding repertoire for advanced music students.
This entry in the Student Edition series contains two effective pieces of intermediate standard selected from among Wilhelm Popp's many salon compositions. Popp's tutorial pieces in particular are justifiably popular, adapting the style and fashion of their era to suit the abilities on the instrument of students and amateur players; thus, these two pieces offer an excellent introduction to the era that has since become known as the Golden Age of the flute.
