Chester Music presents 'Two Remembrances' for voice, alto flute, and piano by composer Andre Previn.
Andre Previn's Two Remembrances, for voice, alto flute, and piano, sets texts from Expressionist poet Else Lasker-Schuler and Middle Ages poet Frau Ava, both on the theme of love.
Both movements - A Love Song and Lyric - exploit the unique timbre of the alto flute, and the contrast between alto and soprano, to create lush textures that drift through the delicate strains of the piece.
