Price, F :: Adoration
Publisher: Jolly Music
Editor: Jolly, E (arr.)
Jolly Music presents 'Adoration' by Florence Price, arranged here for flute choir by Elizabeth Jolly.
Originally composed for organ, 'Adoration' is one of Florence Price's most intimate and expressive works. With its gentle lyricism, flowing lines, and tender harmonies, the piece offers a moment of reflection and calm. Florence Price (1887-1953) was a trailblazer in American music history, becoming the first African American woman to have a symphony performed by a major orchestra. Her music blends the traditions of European classical music with the rich heritage of African American spirituals and folk melodies. 'Adoration' reflects this fusion in its warm harmonic palette and vocal-style phrasing. This intermediate flute choir arrangement is scored for 5 C flutes with optional alto and bass flute.
