Prokofiev's Overture on Hebrew Themes is here transcribed for flute choir or orchestra. The overture, in one continuous movement, uses two quasi-Jewish folksongs to improvise its way through Klezmer and Eastern European Jewish life. Charming and engaging, this work has consistently remained popular since it was first premiered in 1920.
