While not much is known about composer Carlos Radaelli, we can let you in on the history of the genre of this piece. Milonga is an event as well as a genre of Argentinian dance music. Music played at a milonga is mainly tango, waltz, and milonga. As a genre, milonga is generally in 2/4 time and can be described as an ‘excited habanera’, as it has a quicker tempo and a syncopated beat.
Radaelli’s Petite Milonga follows all of these unspoken rules and provides performers with a challenging, but infectious milonga.
