Ferdinand Ries presents the Fantasia for Flute and Piano, opus 113/2.
Written on themes of Rossini, the Fantasia belongs to the class of early 1800 opera paraphrases; however, unlike most of the schlock produced in the genre, the Fantasia holds true due to the superior touch of Ries' compositional style and the sheer originality of the Rossini themes used.
