Paul Sifler, born in Ljubljana, Slovenia, immigrated to the United States at the age of 11, and following his studies at the Chicago Conservatory as music, led a long and prolific career as a composer and organist. This Prayer for Peace, originally composed for the organ, seems perfectly suited for the unique instrumentation of a solo flute with low flute choir.
Instrumentation: Solo C flute, 3 alto flutes, 2 bass flutes, contrabass flute (or contralto flute)
