Lombardo Music Publications presents 'Space Games' for flute quartet by composer Ricky Lombardo.
Composer, Ricky Lombardo, has this to say about his new work: 'Space Games' is an original composition written for a quartet or quintet. The fifth part can be optional. There are several very melodic sections throughout with a few areas with some limited dissonance. This composition is meant to be enjoyable and fun while being playful at the same time. It is intended to be reminiscent of traveling through outer space but in a not so serious manner. I thought giving the composition the title of 'Space Games' would portray the desired image. At a tempo of 172 to the quarter note, the work moves along at quite a fast pace. This is not technically or rhythmically difficult but it may be a little challenging when played up to tempo. The beginning will help set the mood of the work and get the instrumentalists ready for what lies ahead.'
