Stamitz, A :: 6 Duos op. 1
Stamitz, A
6 Duos, op. 1 for two flutes by Anton Stamitz is a set of intermediate flute duets published first in 1785. In the history of music the name Stamitz is inseparable from the concept of the Mannheim School, the founder of which is generally regarded to be Johann Wenzel Anton Stamitz. Stamitz made an important contribution to flute literature particularly with the Caprices de Flutes which, like all his other works, were published in Paris or Versailles. The present Flute Duos are the only exception, having been published by Schott in Mainz.
