Stone, J :: Space Scapes
Emerald Rock Publications presents 'Space Scapes' for flute choir by Julie Stone.
The composer writes, ''Space Scapes' was composed for the Prevailing Winds Flute Ensemble of Huntsville, Alabama 'Rocket City,' home to several space organizations. The group requested a space-themed piece to honor their city and this piece musically depicts a rocket launch, flight exploration through space, and return to earth. Inspired by the book/movie 'Contact,' the piece is largely built on the harmonic series that is connected to space communication.'
