Tchesnokov states, "Created at the 6th edition of ‘Envolees musicales’ festival by ‘Quator Sylphides’ on April 1, 2009, at Temple Saint-Marcel in Paris (France). Performers feel free to refine nuances, articulations, tempi and playing modes such pizz or breath tones.’ Flute 1 includes passages for piccolo in the 2nd and 4th movements."
In four movements, I. La plainte de Daphnis, II. La danse des elfes, III. La foret de Pan, and IV. La danse des fees, this work is a fantastic addition to any recital program. Dmitri Tchesnokov is a 21st century Ukranian composer.
