John Thow's Six Duets were written to give advanced and moderately advanced players duets suitable for both the studio and for concerts and recitals. Each one features a specific technical problem: intonation, double tonguing, trills, grace notes, extended techniques, and flutter tonguing. They may be performed individually or in any grouping appropriate to the performers.
Movements: I. Dialogue in a Mirror; II. Double (The Vanishing Machine); III. Chasing a Trill; IV. A Grace-ful (if enigmatic) Ground; V. Tossed in a Storm; VI. Thoughts, Interrupted by Birds.
