For flute and bassoon. Because of its great solemnity, Kol Nidre is part of the Jewish High Holiday of Yom Kippur. While it can be recited as a prayer, the music expresses fear, impassioned pleading and hope for ultimate deliverance. Kol Nidre is chanted or played three times before sunset on the night before Yom Kippur.
