Two alternating themes are featured in this Greek Carol, the first one rather melancholy (in a minor key) and the second quite joyful (in a major key). The musical line flows through varied harmonies with the melody moving from one instrument to another in renewed energy. The unique tonalities of the flute choir are suited well for this beautiful carol. Scored for 6 C flutes, optional piccolo, alto, bass, and contrabass.
