Viktor Ujj was born in Debrecen, Hungary. He worked as director and flute teacher at the music school in the town of Miskolc, to be subsequently appointed musical director of the symphonic and wind instruments orchestra.

His compositions focus on works for chamber. In his compositions, Ujj uses rhythmical and harmonical elements of the folkloric music played by Carpathian and Balkan peoples. However, the melodies and themes are always genuine ideas of the author.

The Happy Flute Music, or Lustige Flotenmusik for piccolo, three flutes, and alto flute, consists of three short movements; Ujj's intention is to convey the impression of playful lightheartedness from the days of childhood.
