This collection of duets for C flute and alto flute is arranged meticulously by composer Kenneth D. Friedrich. 

The 101 selected pieces include lesser-known hymns alongside classics such as Amazing Grace, Be Thou My Vision, Battle Hymn of the Republic, and Jesus Loves Me. Appropriate for intermediate-level performers, these selected hymns explore a wide range of moods, tempi, lyrical expression, technique, and articulation. Most pieces contain a brief introduction that establishes the hymn's tonality and thematic motives. Friedrich takes great care to ensure that each part alternates between melodic and accompaniment roles to engage both performers.

Embellished variations and key signature changes provide additional musical interest to listeners. Although intended as duets, these hymns may also be adapted for solo flute or solo alto flute by the performers. This collection is a valuable resource for gigging musicians and especially for church flute duos. The musical content is appropriate for weddings, funerals, family gatherings, and church services throughout the year. Additionally, the hymns are fun to perform and may be incorporated in lessons to practice sight-reading, phrasing, intonation, and blending.
