In this book you will find a selection of attractive melodies for flute, written throughout the centuries by well-known British composers - from Thomas Morley of the Renaissance to Colin Cowles of our time.

All the pieces seem to have a quintessentially 'British' feel to them. Particularly striking are the beautiful long phrases and stately melodies. On the CD you will hear an enchanting interpretation of each of the pieces. However, consider it a challenge to create your own musical rendering; then this music will never become tedious. On the CD you will also find the piano accompaniments, played on a real grand piano, which provide you with your own unique accompaniment while studying. Yet the music will of course sound best when playing together with a pianist. To be able to play from Best of British for Flute you must have been playing the flute for three or four years. If that's the case, then you will certainly enjoy this volume.
