Various :: Classical Pop Duets

Classical Pop Duets is a collection of 30 instantly recognisable classical pieces arranged for two flutes. The pieces have been chose for those who want to expand their classical music repertoire, and arranged to cover a variety of key signatures, ranges, styles, and rhythms. Ideal for flautists at varying grade levels, these pieces are also suitable for performance by larger ensemble groups.

From the arranger, Chris Potter:

'I envision these pieces as a bridge for those students who have had little exposure to classical music in its original form, and may have only heard them as background music on television commercials or in films. Trying to narrow down which pieces to arrange was like picking among jewels and revisiting all the wonderful music from the past was inspiring; now I have fresh material for singing in the shower!

I have tried to include a variety of key signatures, ranges, styles, rhythms and ability levels so that the students come out stronger players. I suggest playing three or four of these at your next recital, with as many people as possible on each piece. It makes for a wonderful finale to have all the students playing together.'
