Various :: English & Irish Hymn Preludes for Flute
Mel Bay Publications presents ‘English & Irish Hymn Preludes for Flute,’ arranged by Carl Heine.
For many years, traditional folk melodies have crossed over from pubs and concert stages to churches and religious ceremonies as hymn writers put new words to familiar tunes heard outside of churches. This collection of ‘English & Irish Hymn Preludes for Flute’ celebrates eight Celtic, Gaelic, Welsh, and similar melodies that have been reborn as hymns. Historically, the tunes are named for the small villages where they originated or were first heard, Others reference ancient historical events, people, and folk tales. The eight settings have been curated for a wide range of seasons and venues: churches, house concerts, folk festivals, and concert halls.
