From the editor:

'In the past generation our musical world has gone through an important revival of early music. The flute, which dates from antiquity, was used widely in the Renaissance. It is my intention to make this wonderful repertoire available to flute players.

This book is a collection of Renaissance music for flute. Most of the pieces are transcriptions of four or five part dance suits, some are originally for solo instrument. The keyboard part was prepared by Dana Ragsdale. I hope that this collection will delight flute players who have an interest in early music. Many of the pieces can be performed as suites, but performers should feel free to change the order as desired.'
