The movements of the Little Jazz Suite for flute and piano by Petersburg composer Natalya Volkova are inspired by the melodies and rhythms of some jazz music genres. Technical accessibility and ease of perception will allow the suite to be performed by both professionals and young musicians.
The blues as a musical genre was formed on the basis of Negro folklore, in particular, such ethnic genres as 'working song' and spiritual. The formation of classical blues ended in the 1920s with the advent of ensembles performing it.
The term 'boogie-woogie' came into use at the beginning of the 20th century as the name of a dance to the accompaniment of a piano; Thus, this style was born as a purely piano, but later the plays written in it began to be performed by ensembles and orchestras.
Bossa nova - a style of Brazilian music, which is a kind of mixture of jazz with various local rhythms, primarily samba.
