Walker writes about this book, "In this book, I have collected over 60 of my favorite baroque melodies; many are written for flute, but some have been taken from favourite orchestral and choral moments, and others 'borrowed' from singers or other instrumentalists, and adapted for flute. This book follows the same structure as my previous 'Baroque Flute Studies' book, with the melodies grouped within each of the major/minor key structures. The specific tonal challenges of each key are explored and introduced with exercises I have written specifically for the baroque flute.
