For beginner level quartets, Walton crafts his own variations on the familiar Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. The theme is presented in straightforward fashion, followed by four variations in different rhythms, including a minor key shift in the third statement. As a benefit, the set also includes substitute parts 3 and 4 for B flat clarinets, expanding the possibilities. The Beginner Quartet Series can be performed by more advanced beginners.
