The student and intermediate series will help the student utilize their air properly withtheir lip plate design. The intermediate series mechanism provides the student with optimum balance, comfort, and ease to develop proper hand position. Yamaha has also refined their key mechanism with pointed arms - not only making it visually appealing, but enhancing its overall precision. Offering different combinations of sterling and nickel silver, the Yamaha 200, 300, and 400 make an ideal start for any aspiring musician.

The Yamaha 300 series step-up flutes feature a sterling silver head joint and, combined with a silver-plated body, can enhance the sound with a variety of colors from the sterling silver. The mechanism on the 300 is ergonomically designed, resulting in a comfortable, natural feeling that encourages the young student to play with proper hand position. Its pointed arms also help with smooth key action.

The Yamaha Intermediate 300 Series models are available with inline or off-set G and have the following common features.
