Johann Rudolf Zumsteeg's Concerto in D Major for two flutes and orchestra, here presented with a reduction for two flutes and piano, is in form and expression very much in the operatic Italian style, bearing resemblance to the similar concerto for two flutes by Cimarosa - though Zumsteeg's, written earlier, holds more of the Mozartian voice with which he was so enamored.
