Pearl's handmade craftsmanship has pioneered a tradition of flute making that is totally distinctive. Many flute makers claim to be innovators, but Pearl's novelty can be proven. Most of the Pearl artisans have been building flutes for their entire career only at Pearl. The apprentice program has been employed for decades, which allows the talents of master builders to be passed on to future generations. We do not only look to the past, but continue to innovate the art.
Innovations include Pearl's patented Pinless Mechanism, which has set an industry benchmark for smoothness and reliability and the Pearl One-Piece Core-Bar Construction. Together there is no more dependable flute mechanism available. The One-Piece Core-Bar construction eliminates many of the wear and tear problems associated with traditionally constructed flutes. This single rod results in an extremely reliable mechanism that plays more comfortably, stays in adjustment longer and is easier to service. The Pearl Pinless construction eliminates protruding needles that snag clothing and removes easy entry (through the use of socket head screws inserted from the bottom) to corrosive perspiration and body acids which can cause binding of keys.
